Matt Bernard Joins SJSC Coaching Staff

San Juan Soccer Club is excited to announce that Matt Bernard will be joining the coaching staff in April. Matt comes to San Juan after working for the Sacramento Republic Development Academy for the past 2 seasons. He served as the Under 13 Head Coach and Director of Goalkeeping this past season. Matt has coached for the past 15 years with experience as a Director of Coaching, Collegiate Assistant, ID2 International Staff, and Youth National Team Goalkeeper Coach.

“My time at San Juan started 25 years ago when I was a 12-year-old boy and came to San Juan because I wanted to play with the best. I am happy to come back to what I have always considered as my club. I look forward to helping the players and the club in any way I can.”

Director of Coaching, Zeca Neto stated, “We have been trying to bring Matt back to San Juan for a long time. We are very excited to have him as a part of our coaching staff. He brings different experiences that will impact our players and staff in a very positive way.”

Matt will be coaching both the 2004 Boys Academy Team and the 2004 Lightning Blue team. He will also help to grow and develop our Goalkeeper Curriculum.
