The San Juan Soccer Club and Sacramento Sheriff’s Activities League are joining forces while providing the community an opportunity to get involved and help the families affected by the wildfires. San Juan Soccer Club will be opening the doors to its Futsal facility on Tuesday, September 22nd and Wednesday, September 23rd 10am – 6pm at 11151 Trade Center Drive, Suite #203, Rancho Cordova, CA. The soccer club’s training facility will be used as a collection location for people to drop off the needed supplies for the Red Cross evacuation center located at the Jackson Rancheria Hotel. Club Vice President, Warren Holt shared, “We welcome the opportunity to partner with the Sacramento Sheriff’s Activities League and do what we can to help our Amador County neighbors. As we go through our typical week of soccer trainings and games there are people just minutes from here that are having to rebuilding their lives after the devastating fire. We are confident our members will rally together for this most important cause and hope the community will also respond.”
Donations that are needed and can be dropped at the Futsal facility are: **(NEW ITEMS)**
* Blankets * t-shirts * socks * underwear * slippers * light jackets/sweatshirts * Pillows * toilet paper * diapers * non-perishable food items * ALL baby supplies (clothes, blankets etc) * infant formula * ALL toiletries (tooth brush, tooth paste, brushes, soap etc) *
In addition to assisting with the delivery of collected items, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Activities League will also be conducting collections on Thursday, September 24th 5 pm – 8 pm at Walmart located at 8465 Elk Grove Boulevard, Elk Grove. The Sheriff’s Activities League will be onsite and providing a list of the needed items to potential customers. Customers who would like to participate will be able to give their donation to deputies and San Juan soccer players after they shop.
