It is with mixed emotions that we announce that our ECNL Director, Erin Sharpe, will be leaving the club at the end of May. Erin has done a lot for our ECNL Program, our Club, and our Players and we are sad to see her go but excited for her in her new job. Erin has accepted the Director of Coaching job at Pleasanton Rage Soccer Club. We are very happy for Erin and wish her nothing but success in her new role. Please help us congratulate Erin in her new role.
Director of Coaching Zeca Neto had the following to say: “As a club, we are committed to celebrating the successes of our players and staff when they move on to the next step in their careers. Erin has been an integral part of our staff for the past 5 years and has helped push the club in a very positive direction in the ECNL.”
Erin Sharpe passed on a message to everyone: “I would like to thank all of the players, families, staff and board members that I have had the opportunity to work with over the years, and who have impacted my life in immeasurable ways. I appreciate the support that San Juan has provided me in this new opportunity and am very excited to follow future successes of this exceptional club.”
With this announcement, we are very excited to announce that Bernardo Silva will take over the ECNL Director Role effectively immediately. Bernardo will work closely with Erin over the next few weeks to ensure we have a smooth transition. “Bernardo has been a great addition to our coaching staff and will flourish in his new role. We are excited that he has agreed to take on this job and the energy he will bring to it.”, says Director of Coaching, Zeca Neto.
“I am humbled and very excited about the opportunity to lead the San Juan Soccer Club elite girls’ program. The ECNL platform provides a proven pathway that prepares players for the next level whether it’s college, the national team, or professionally. Our effort will be relentless in pursuit of a national championship environment across our whole program. We are committed to developing great people first, and secondly, great soccer players that will continue to honor the San Juan SC legacy through their daily actions. I am excited about the future of our club and grateful to be a part of it!”, Bernardo Silva, New SJSC ECNL Director
San Juan Soccer Club is pleased to announce that Matt Bernard has been named the Club’s Technical Director. Matt will begin this position immediately. In this role, he will assist the Director of Coaching with Player and Staff development including the implementation of the club’s gameplay model, curriculum, and parent engagement. Having Matt in this new role will allow us to expand our contact and impact with the players and coaches, and allows us to continue to develop new ideas and implement them as the club grows and continues to improve.
“I am extremely grateful to help the club I grew up playing in continue to move forward and create the best environment around for our players, coaches, and families.
