I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to play D1 soccer at UC Davis! It has been such an amazing, very challenging, and sometimes frightening journey so far-- playing soccer has pushed me in many ways and I feel honored to continue competing in these coming years under the guidance of UC Davis’s dedicated, passionate coaches. After meeting Tracy Hamm, Jody Lingafeldt, and Yewande Balogun, I immediately knew that I wanted to play soccer there. From the great education to the phenomenal coaches, to the beautiful campus, everything just seemed to fall into place and I knew Davis was right. But this could not have been possible without all of the encouraging voices and inspiring influences I’ve had throughout my life. I would like to thank the following: Anthony Blackman for introducing the eight-year-old me to soccer and giving me my first glimpse into what it means to be truly passionate about the game; Richard Henderson and Jeff Cade for all those early morning and hot afternoon training sessions; without question, Erin Sharpe for her amazing insight and encouragement; and of course, all the San Juan coaches for pushing my game to the next level and helping me navigate this sometimes overwhelming process. Finally, I am most grateful to my family for their unfaltering support and dedication-- they are the ones, ultimately, who made all of this possible. GO AGGIES!
