I’m honored and excited to announce my commitment to play Division 1 soccer at Youngstown State University. It’s always been my dream to play college soccer and I am so thankful that my dream is finally coming true!
I would first like to thank my parents for their endless support and sacrifice to driving me countless hours up to Sacramento to play for San Juan. My experience has been a little different than most because I commute from Fresno for practice and spend a lot of time in the car! Enduring many late nights of driving and rearranging work schedules- my parents always found a way to make it possible for the last 4 years! Due to this commitment, I was able to be coached by the highest quality of coaches and play with amazing and talented players, both to which I credit this opportunity to play at the college level! To the San Juan coaching staff, I owe my deepest gratitude and appreciation, especially to Erin Sharpe, who was relentless and encouraging during the recruiting process. I would also like to thank my teammates for welcoming me to the San Juan family as a friend and teammate and always having my back through this entire process.
This has definitely not been an easy road. I’ve had a million injuries and a lot of set-backs physically and it is an understatement to say that the recruiting process is stressful! But if I could give anyone advice it would be to not give up. If you love playing, work hard and stay positive... no matter how many people tell you-you're too short!
I never would have thought that I’d end up in Ohio and be so far from my family, but when I met the coaching staff at Youngstown they made me feel like I was at home. I can’t wait to get there and start the next chapter of my life! Go Penguins!
