It was really a quick and easy decision for me to join Long Beach State's program. The coaches, the players, and the staff were all super welcoming and I could see that everyone there was very driven and loving what they were doing. I have always wanted my college playing experience to be at the highest level and to compete for a national title. I felt like the coaching staff and the excellent players that they put on the field every year will give me a chance to accomplish both of those goals. I can't wait to be a part of it.
There are a lot of good teams in the Big West and the fact that their out of conference games are all against very strong programs is exciting. They are not afraid to take on anyone. Being a NIKE sponsored school is awesome too. I've worn NIKE my whole career and hope to work there someday after college and after I'm done playing soccer.
Long Beach St is a very difficult school to get accepted to. My education is very important to me. I feel like the work will be challenging and I look forward to continuing the balancing act of school and sports. The great weather and the fact that I'll be close to my sister who hopefully will be playing soccer in Southern California helps as well.
I'd like to give special thanks to Coach River Blough, Coach Kylee Wosnuk, and Coach Nicolas Garcia for keeping my head up and believing in me. I'd like to thank Coach Tony Perez and Coach Erin Sharpe for giving me a shot at the highest level and to Coach Matt McDougall for pushing me in training and making me do things I didn't think I could.
