I am overjoyed to announce that I will be playing D1 soccer at Northern Arizona University in 2017. I fell in love with the “Feeling” of the school while touring it for the first time this past fall. Coach Luciano and Coach Carolyn’s infectiously positive attitudes made me feel at home right away. I remember getting in the car after the visit and thinking “WOW, this is the school for me!”. Everywhere I looked I could imagine myself fitting in; slack lines, mountains, snow and amazing coaching staff… I can deal with this!
I am so thankful for all my coaches at San Juan; Curtis Holmes for helping me build my character, Tony Perez for helping me build my self-esteem and develop better ball skills, and Erin Sharpe who advanced the way I think and see the game. I will be eternally grateful to my teammates for encouraging me, competing with me and being there for the long haul.
However my biggest thanks goes to my family; for the sacrifices my parents made so that we could all participate in our sports and the support they have always given me. My parents have shown me love in so many ways it is hard to condense it here. Mommy Chris thank you for lightening the mood when I had tough games or experiences. Thanks Mama Ty for coaching me in select soccer and gifting me with all those wonderful memories. I am grateful for my eldest sister Chelsea for being the person that I can look up to and for introducing me to the game of soccer when, as a baby, I tottled around with a size 1 soccer ball tucked under my arm while watching you play. Thanks to my sister Mattie for her unconditional support, especially after a tough game and her reminder that it is just that…a game. Thanks to Annsley whose Eye for the game is impeccable; she is always willing to review or council about the game afterwards. And lastly, I am so very thankful for my little sister and best friend Roo who also plays for SJSC. I could not ask for a better best friend or sister! You are always encouraging and supportive. Thanks for being my playmate!
