Although my time with San Juan has been only 3 seasons, I would have not achieved my full potential and accomplishments without it. I am beyond happy to announce that I will continue my soccer career playing Division 1 at San José State University. This program has undergone many recent changes, but most notably adding Lauren Hanson as head coach led the team to clenching their first Mountain West Title in the 2015 season. My long-lived dream of committing to play at the next level would have not been in reach without the support of my coaches and family.
My natural love of the game was inherited from my parents, who watched, coached, studied, and even played in their own college careers. With them and my older sister, Kelsee, by my side, I developed an inevitable passion for soccer. After playing 8 years of youth and competitive ball in Fresno, my parents decided that my exposure was limited and expanded opportunities were essential. However, my developing years in Fresno soccer would have remained static without the guidance of many knowledgeable coaches who impacted me greatly: Mel Williams, CJ Cooper, and my father.
In making a decision to seek a higher level, San Juan Soccer Club was an easy choice with a difficult distance. I could never thank my mom enough for every 6 hour drive we took every Tuesday or Thursday to make this decision manageable. In addition, my limited capability to reaching San Juan practices should have held me back, but I would like to thank my sister for being the best training partner. Also, my short time at San Juan was the most beneficial for enhancing the player I am. Tony Perez and Erin Sharpe developed all features of my game, which I could not thank them enough for. With credit to all my coaches and family, I have made it to where I've always wanted to be.
