Alexis Miller - 2017 Commit

Alexis Miller - 2017 (Spirits '99 ECNL)

Alexis Miller

I am so excited to announce that I will be continuing my education and soccer career at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  I’m extremely grateful to have the opportunity to fulfill my dream of playing Division 1 soccer in the fall of 2017.  Head Coach Drew Fitzgerald and Assistant Coach Nick Whiting have a great vision for the future of the program and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of Cowgirl soccer. Most importantly, McNeese State has a fantastic Health Science department that should provide me a great foundation to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant for Orthopedics.

All of this would not be possible without the great coaches that I have had throughout my journey.  Coming from Arizona in 2010, I would like to thank Coaches Barry Van Patten & Joash Dukes for providing me a solid soccer foundation at Sereno Soccer Club.  Coach Curtis Holmes for making me a better technical player and believing I was the right fit at San Juan. Coaches Tony Perez and Kyle Perez for dealing with all my injuries and helping me develop my leadership skills on the pitch.  Finally, Coaches Erin Sharpe and Mireya Wathen-Mayorga for pushing me to become the best player I can be and showing me what it takes to compete at the next level.

I would also like to thank my teammates for all their support and competing with me every time we step on the pitch.  Lastly, I would like to express how thankful I am for my parents for all the unconditional love and support throughout the years, and my sister, Peyton, for growing up on the sidelines and aspiring to be just like me on and off the field.  It is truly an honor to be your older sister and I cannot wait to see what your future holds.
